Original sling for the MAT 49 submachine gun, made of chrome-tanned leather, 25 mm wide and 4 mm thick. Supplied complete with its 2 black steel hooks.
Adjustable length from 80 to 130 cm (hook to hook). Military markings vary in visibility depending on the piece — authenticity guaranteed.
New old stock, never used in service.
Versatile: can be used as a bag shoulder strap, musette strap, or equipment strap.

The MAT 49 is one of the most iconic submachine guns of the 20th-century French army. Designed by the Manufacture d'Armes de Tulle and adopted in 1949, it was the standard automatic sidearm of the French forces for over three decades — from the Indochina War to operations in Algeria, as well as being used by gendarmerie units and special forces.
This leather sling is part of the original regulation equipment supplied with the weapon. Manufactured according to the French military standards of the time, it reflects the attention to detail given to the equipment of the French infantryman in the 1950s–1970s. Finding a new, unused period sling is rare today — most surviving examples show signs of wear from active service.
A collectible accessory in its own right for any enthusiast of French Cold War militaria.
